Matthew Marchal, M.D.

Dr. Marchal is licensed to practice in both Virginia and Georgia and is board certified in Family Practice. Dr. Marchal practiced Family and Sports Medicine in the Richmond area for fifteen years before moving to the Atlanta area where he practiced for the last eight years. He joined Prime Care in early summer 2021.

Outside of the office, Dr. Marchal enjoys international travel and can’t wait to get back to it. He also enjoys his coffee, Virginia Tech activities and cycling. Dr. Marchal has been supporting Cycling Virginia since 2000 by providing medical coverage for their Bryan Park Training Series every summer.

Education and Training: Dr. Marchal graduated cum laude from Virginia Tech with a degree in biochemistry. He went on to graduate from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1997. Dr. Marchal completed his Family Medicine residency at Hanover Family Physicians in Mechanicsville, Virginia where he served as Chief Resident.

 Academic and Professional Appointments: Before moving to Atlanta Dr. Marchal was named Richmond Magazine “Top Doctors” of Family Medicine in 2011, 2012 and 2013. He was also named Style Weekly Magazine “Best Doctors” in 2011 and 2013.
